MarketMatic
Research · AI / NLP2025–2026Our final-year research project: a multi-tenant platform for small businesses, combining a retrieval-augmented (RAG) support system that answers from each business's own documents with a bilingual English/Sinhala content generation module.
BitLab
Full-stack · Real-timeJul 2025 – Jan 2026My internship, and the only work on this site that other people depended on. Next.js App Router over a Prisma and PostgreSQL schema, real-time voting and notifications on Socket.IO, AI-assisted features against the Gemini API, shipped from a containerised environment and reviewed before it merged.
MoneyWise
Full-stack · Fintech2025Personal finance tracker. I owned the Income Management module end to end: a real-time dashboard with custom date filters, goal tracking, automated PDF reports, and a JWT-secured API with validation and rate limiting.
Takas.lk Redesign
UX Research · Product Design2024I led a team analysing and improving the usability of e-commerce platform Takas.lk. My own contribution was the user research (interviewing users about the existing design) and the redesign of three core pages in Figma.
VitalLink
Mobile · Healthcare2024A healthcare app for managing patient records (details, emergency contacts and medical history) held on the device in SQLite, with a search built for retrieving a record fast.
LearnSync
Product Design · EdTech2024A collaborative learning app giving students a virtual space for group study, project collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Designed and prototyped in Figma, with the onboarding, interactions and animation all mapped out.
Software that still makes sense long after it ships.
I build web applications end to end, from data and APIs to interfaces and the decisions that make software reliable in the hands of real users.
My engineering experience comes from production software at BitLab, alongside a year of research and development on MarketMatic, culminating in a peer-reviewed IEEE publication. I care about writing clear, maintainable code, solving problems thoughtfully, and leaving systems easier to work with than I found them.
I use AI-assisted development and prompt engineering to accelerate research, problem-solving, and implementation while maintaining ownership of architecture and engineering decisions.

Six months on a production codebase: Next.js and PostgreSQL underneath, real-time collaboration and AI-assisted features on top, the whole thing shipped from a containerised environment.
- Built features end to end in React and Next.js - App Router and Server Components - over a PostgreSQL schema modelled and queried through Prisma.
- Wrote the server side to match: RESTful endpoints as Next.js API Routes, with the business logic kept behind them rather than smeared across the client.
- Shipped the real-time surface - voting, commenting and notifications over Socket.IO - where the latency is the feature and stale state is the bug.
- Handled uploads properly: validation, format conversion and optimisation through Sharp, so images arrive on the page already the right size.
- Integrated AI-assisted features against the Google Gemini API, and built the interfaces around them in Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI - accessible, responsive, keyboard-usable.
- Worked in Docker-managed environments and to a modular architecture: reusable components, clear boundaries, code reviewed before it merged.

Learning by building things that have to actually work, rather than by reading about them.
- This site: Next.js 16, React 19 and Tailwind v4, statically rendered. Every word held in one content module, and a capability table the type system refuses to let drift.
- Trialling a pattern on my own work first, so the version that reaches a team is the second attempt rather than the first.
